WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE AUTODROMO HERMANOS RODRIGUEZ DURING THE FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO 2015®

On next October 30, 31 and November 1 the attendees to the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO 2015®, besides enjoying the racing, they will be able to enjoy several activities for children and adults at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, which will include gastronomic variety and an entertainment offer that will satisfy them all.

The Autodromo will be divided into seven sections: green, blue, purple, yellow, orange, gray and brown. Each of them will provide services, amenities and commodities to have a blast and live an unforgettable experience.

For participants convenience, a free app is available for iOs and Android at App Store and Google Play named AUTODROMO HERMANOS RODRIGUEZ, it includes interactive maps, racing time lines, food and beverages options at each area, location of ATM’s, access paths among others. With this app, you may also follow step by step all developments occurred in the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO 2015®.

Arrival to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez

We recommend all the fans to forsee time and check the traffic report in anticipation to avoid setbacks.

To access by car take Viaducto Rio de la Piedad or Avenida Churubusco, however, we don’t have parking lots inside of the Autodromo during the racing days, so we suggest taking the public transport, perfectly suited to the event’s timetables. The nearest subway stations are Velodromo, Ciudad Deportiva and Puebla corresponding to the Line 9 of the subway and stations Iztacalco or UPIICSA of the Metrobus.

There is also a transportation service available in Ticketmaster, to arrive and depart the Autodromo for the three days of the event, from different locations in Mexico City, Ticket2Ride. 

Access

There are 6 different Access to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, Gates 1, 6, 9, 12, 13 and 14. All of them with free service of transportation to take the attendees to the corresponding area according to their ticket.

Schedules

Gates will open all days at 8:00 hours, Friday and Saturday will close at 17:00 hours, and Sunday at 20:00 hours.

Preliminary Races

Masters Historic Racing

The Masters Historic Racing is a support racing in which Masters will exhibit an extraordinary grid of 38 historic cars from the 70’s and early 80’s, the most iconic stage in motor racing. Participation on the race will be open for both, Masters USA cars and FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship’s.

FIA Formula 4

FIA FORMULA 4 is the category that brings the motor racing new talents together and grant points to the participants so they obtain the FORMULA 1 license. The cars have the latest technology available. The race will be compound by 20 cars on the starting grid among these are Telcel RPL teams from the experienced Ricardo Perez de Lara and Martiga EG of Esteban Gutierrez.

OFF-TRACK ACTIVITIES

The fun

Besides the races, all the family may spend a good time in all sections with the F1 Game Zone, an interactive entertainment center where fans may prove their skills with other participants. They will find Formula 1 cars simulators, which will be interconnected with the rest of the sections, to develop a virtual challenge between the fans and get a winner.  With this game it is possible to compete against an actual driver and win a coveted access to the Paddock (area for drivers and teams). All sections have been also provided with the Pit Challenge game, where to experience a real tire replacement in a real pit stop with a Formula 1 dummy.

F1 Village

It is an incredible area of over 20 thousand square meters where attendees will find official merchandise, simulators, restaurants, bars, beer gardens and F1® teams innovations. They will be placed at green and blue sections.

Music

At sections green, blue, purple and yellow there will be stages to enjoy a variety of live music with groups of different music genders from 9:30 hours. and to 19:00 hours during the three days of the event. Fans will be able to enjoy all kind of music, from an electronic music DJ and Rock bands to a Beatles tribute and 60’s covers.

Food and Beverages

In all sections in which the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez will be divided into, it will be found a food court, with different options of restaurants and fast food. Depending on the section, you will find a Burger King, Starbucks, Domino’s Pizza, Sushi-itto, Fisher’s or Califa.

At sections gray, yellow, blue and green you may find a Beer Garden, and drinking bar son different sections with a wide variety of cocktails, national and international beers and wine.

WHAT YOU MUST NOT MISS

 • Practice sessions and classification, these are a great options to get involved with the cars on the track; after the test sessions, the teams get a place on the starting grid according to their times scored during the classification.

• Opening ceremony, the official parade of the drivers, the National Anthem and the Grid Girls pointing the position of the cars on the grid, to later give place to the starting signal.

• The curves, the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez track layout has 17 turns: 7 left and 10 right, the spectacular to the Foro Sol, it will be exciting since it represents a big challenge for the drivers given its difficulty.

• The main straight, is 1,302 meters and cars may reach speeds of up to 328 km/h.

• When the winner crosses the finish line, it will be undoubtedly a thrill moment.

There will be 24 big screens distributed along the Autodromo, for the audience to enjoy these moments no matter their locations.

General Recommendations:

• To wear comfortable clothes and shoes, a sweater or a suede.

• Use sunblock

• It is allowed the access with cameras (not professional), backpacks, purses and small satchels and strollers.

• The access with selfie sticks is not allowed.

• Planning the arrival and find the entrance and exits previously.

• All credit cards will be accepted and there will be ATM’s, but we recommend carrying some cash.
